    Description

Many years ago a friend of mine found these letters tucked inside a second hand book.  Because I was a teacher, and they dealt with an educational matter, he gave them to me.
The eleven letters  cover both sides of a 1914-1915 correspondence between an ADC representing the lieutenant governor of Manitoba and Robert Fletcher of the provincial department of education.  His Royal Highness, the Duke of Connaught, who was then Governor General of Canada,  has previously contacted the Manitoba Lieutenant Governor offering 20 bronze medals to Manitoba students.  An ADC representing the Lieutenant Governor writes to Robert Fletcher, Deputy Minister of Education informing him of this offer.  Several letters pass back and forth.  Some are carbon copies and some are originals.  Two are pictured.  Of the two pictured, one is on Manitoba Vice Regal letterhead and the other on Manitoba Department of Education letterhead.  Six of the letters are on letterhead.  The other five are carbon copies. The eleven letters are stapled together in the top corner, and had previously been punched for filing.
