Each of these rustic tom and bass shells are handcrafted from a single sheet of ultralight aluminum and left completely in the raw for an heirloom look and character. They pack a beautiful tone that is quite unlike any other wood or metal kit we've played: warm, resonant, focused, and naturally EQ'd in such a way as can be played wide open without the need for tape or muffling. Each shell in the Raw Aluminum kit comes crowned with A&F's straight-cut 45-degree edges and topped with counterhoops of raw brass (toms) and whiskey-infused finished maple (kick). The result is a woody, sophisticated response that's powerful onstage and balanced in the studio. Leather badge grommets and raw brass hardware complete the package. The raw 6- and 8-lug shells steer this kit toward a more vintage design, with the quick tuning and even stretch of some mid-century classics. Like all A&F Raw-series snares and kits, the Raw Aluminum shell pack is entirely handcrafted — cut, rolled, welded, and sanded — from a single sheet of metal in A&F's Austin workshop.

A&F have embraced archaic construction techniques from decades past to make drums that have a unique sound. Since every drum component is handmade, aged, and assembled in house, there may be small variances between two drums of the same size and finish. While some would classify varying patinas, imperfect circles, or visible weld seams as flaws, A&F Drum Co. disagrees. In fact, the artisans at A&F consider these cosmetic "flaws" to be the hallmark of a one-of-a-kind 100% handmade drum.
