    Description

    WHAT:
A massive lot of letters, mostly between father and son. It's very sweet how much the father adores his young son. The lot is from a man named Francis Johnnet Oliver Alsop (aka Frank) and his son Peter Cooper Alsop (1915-1970). The letters begin when Peter was in boarding school in Massachusetts. He and his sister Camilla were both adopted. It appears it happens late in Frank's life. This creates a rift between Frank and his wife and they divorce. Frank owns a cotton company in Boston and eventually has young Peter work for his company's branch in New Orleans. There are several photos of Peter as a teenager and a young 20s. He's very handsome.
There's also a copy of Frank's will and another letter from Peter to his dad asking for letters proving he was born as a U.S. citizen since he was adopted and wanted to join the Air Force. He never knew his birth name, but the letter reveals it.
