, is the oldest switch key design used by Pass & Seymour in conjunction with their Commercial Grade Tamper Proof Locking Electrical Switches. The #1498 locking switch key is a
pre-1976
design and used with Pass & Seymour lock switches manufactured and installed in locations before 1976.
This type of tamper proof switch is primarily used in Hallways, Auditoriums, Gymnasiums, Foyers and main areas of Elementary, Middle School, and High Schools to prevent students from turning lights on or off. These switches are also used for raising and lowering gymnasium basketball hoops. In addition to Elementary & High Schools, this type of tamper proof switch is also used in commercial building where the switch cannot be accessed by the general public such as Libraries, Corporate Main Foyer, Hospital Complexes, University Campuses, and Local, State & Federal Buildings.
