    Alexander Nevski Cathedral in Warsaw (architect: Leon Benois) was completed in 1912.  Demolished by Polsih authorities in 1924-6 as a political gesture -  according to the Wikipedia article,
    the Warsaw magistrate issued
    public bonds
    to "give a chance to ery Pole to take part in the action."
