Description
This is a one pint bottle, painted white on the inside at one time, salesman’s sample from the Smith-Lee Co. Smith-Lee manufactured Perfection Pull Caps, Perfection Hoods, Kleen-Kaps, Kleen-Seals and were the sole US distributors of Package Machinery Hooding Machines. They were located in Oneida, New York. This particular bottle has the Perfection Pull Cap along with a cellophane hood. I assume this must be a Kleen-Seal.The bottle has no dairy name on it, but is a 1931 Owens-Illinois bottle from plant 17 which was located in Clarion, Illinois.
These sample bottles would be sent to people who expressed an interest in the caps and hoods. This particular one comes with the original box that was sent to Mr. W. H. Bradley in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
While most of the paint has flaked loose, the bottle is in excellent condition. The cellophane is cracked in spots, but the cap is still good. The box is a bit dusty from age.
The bottle comes from a pet and smoke free home.
