  • Condition: Letterhead is in fair condition simply because the type written body of letter is very faded. You can read under a bright light and/or magnifying. The extreme top right corner tip has a very minor cut off about 1/16th inch from the corner point. There is also a minor crease from a dog ear type bend in the extreme lower left corner about 1/2 inch from the corner tip. There is a very well flattened horizontal crease and two very well flattened vertical creases from being folded to be placed in a mailing envelope. No tears, no stains, no odors.     St. Louis, MO - C. A. Stevenson Pig Iron & Coke Co. Letterhead 1907
    Here is a really neat 114 year old business letterhead from the C. A. Stevenson Pig Iron & Coke Company located in St. Louis, Missouri.
    Dated June 5th 1907
    These business letter was sent to the Modern Iron Works Company in Quincy, Illinois
    This letter was typed in a bluish green typewriter ink. The typewriting in the body of this letter is faded and is difficult to read. You can read it under bright illumination and/or magnification.
    Here is what the body of the letter says:
    June 5th, 1907
    Modern Iron Works Co.,
    Gentlemen:
    We have on track at East St. Louis the following cars loaded with strictly high grade Alabama Pig Iron, and as you probably know quick shipment iron is hard to get and is commanding a premium, but we are in position to offer you these cars at the regular price. The cars are as follows:
    N.Y.C. & H R  - 93779   #2 Fdry.
    L. & N.   - 1692    #2 Fdry.
    C. T, & T  - 1293    #1 Soft
    C. & E. I.  - 37675   #1 Soft
    We offer you all or any portion of the above mention cars for wire acceptance tomorrow at .25 per gross ton Quincy or the #2 Fdry. and .75 for the #1 Soft, usual cash 30 day terms.
