    Description

Unfortunately don't have a specific history on these. However being well versed in shoe construction, my analysis of this pair is as follows:
Shoes appear to be made of a bark tanned leather upper and wet formed stiff Veg-Tan leather sole. The original heel has been replaced with a more modern synthetic step (in the photos you can see an impression where an older heel once existed). Shoe uppers are machine stitched, likely a SINGER 29 series "patcher" (consistent with this era and a necessary machine for sewing in this fashion). The in-sole stitching and decorative edgework stitching is all done by hand. This is a very well constructed pair of shoes. Great care was taken to preserve their integrity. The work of a true craftsman.
